Frequently asked questions for guests
Instead of a ticket price, attendees commit to making a minimum pledge to the presenting ministries. For context, this is typically $500 per individual or couple, although it will vary for each location. Pledges are made during or up to three days following the event.
In order for a Christian nonprofit to be nominated, they must be:
- Based in and operating within the same region of the event (e.g. Southeast Asia, Chattanooga, Europe, Latin America, MENA, Sub-Saharan Africa, USA, UK etc.). For example, a ministry based in the UK who are only operating in South Africa are not eligible for a UK Giving Together.
- Ministries must fit within the granting criteria.
- Ministry staff cannot nominate their own ministry.
- Board members may nominate, but the ministry must also be nominated by a non-board member to be eligible.
Four of the eligible nonprofits that have been nominated by those attending will be selected to present on the evening. Eligible ministries not selected to present may receive a small grant.
Nominations close 5 weeks before the event. From the list of nominated ministries, a small committee gathers to select those who will present. Four eligible nonprofits are selected to present at each event.
On the evening, donors will hear from four selected nonprofits. A pledge form is provided and can be completed either during or up to three days following the event.
Attendees are given clear instructions to transfer their donation directly to the ministry(ies) within two weeks. There is a minimum giving commitment for attendees. In addition:
- A match fund is used against pledges. When the pledges exceed the match, the funds are distributed on a pro rata basis.
- Attendees can usually choose to remain anonymous to any ministry(ies) they pledge to.
We have seen incredible ripple effects of transformative giving as people have caught the vision of Giving Together and built communities around generosity together.
The Maclellan Global Fund provides a funding pot, which aims to match the pledges made at the event to the selected ministries. If the pot is exceeded, the funds are distributed on a pro rata basis.
This website is the best place to find out about Giving Together events. Generally, events are designed for Christians who have an active faith. However, if you would like to invite people who do not have an active faith, they would need to be open to financially supporting ministries that further the work of the gospel.
Nonprofit ministries are welcome to invite donors to nominate them for an event in their region.

These gatherings have been hugely memorable and inspiring for those who have attended. You can expect:
- Networking time to connect informally and build relationships
- Inspiring talks and roundtable conversation with food and drink
- Each of the four featured ministries will present, followed by time for questions. Guests can then make pledges via paper or digital forms.
